The Tourist Train

THE VIDEOGUIDE

In collaboration  with the “Communauté de Communes du Provinois (Community of Municipalities of the Provins region)”, this extremely easy-to-use and ingenious tool, equipped with GPS, will accompany you in the streets and monuments of the medieval town, as well as in the “Pays du Provinois”, to explore unimaginable treasures.

You will be enchanted by the images, comments, stories and interviews that will show you Provins and its region in a whole new way...

Location and enquiries at the Provins Tourist Office during working hours: +33 (0)1 64 60 26 26.

Location and enquiries at the Beton-Bazoches Tourist Office on weekends and public holidays from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Prices: adults 13 € - children 9 € ( 5-12 years old )
This fare includes the access to the monuments of Provins
(equivalent to the Pass Provins) and those of the Pays Provinois.
A leaflet with map and instructions will be given at the rental.


GUIDED TOURS OF PROVINS
UNESCO's World Heritage


This guided walk of the fortified city emphasises the history of Provins and offers a very good overview of its rich heritage.

The tour, which starts from Saint-Jean’s Gate and goes up to Jouy Gate to see the ramparts, will take you to Place du Châtel. Then you will discover the Tithe Barn, a witness of the great splendour of the city at the time of the Fairs of Champagne.

Departure from the Tourist Office for 90 min.

Programme planning:

From 31 March to 7 November 2012:
Visit in english, weekends and daily during French school holidays (zones B & C) at 4 p.m.
Only on request and obligatory booking at the Tourist Office, before 12 a.m. or call the Tourist Office 33 (0) 1 64 60 26 26.

Visit in French, daily at 11. 30 a.m.,  2 p.m. and  4 p.m.

Prices: adults 8 € - children 2 € (5-12 years old).

NIGHT-VISIT: "Provins by candlelight"

Visit Provins in a unusual and magic way!

During this event, the Tourist Office and the shopkeepers propose you two exceptional evenings that will show you the cultural heritage of Provins by candlelight.

In the programme: guided tour, animations in the streets, music, evening show, dinner show, etc.

Programme planning:
Saturday 7 July and Saturday 4 August 2012.

Prices and tour to be confirmed.


The access to the city(estate) and to the animations of street is free during this event, certain activities are paying.



THE TOURIST TRAIN

The Provins Tourist Train takes you through the medieval town with a recorded commentary about the history and the main monuments of Provins (French and English).

Numerous stops. The whole tour lasts 30 min. The ticket is available for all day round.

Opening hours:
From 31 March to 30 April 2012: weekends and public holidays form 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (except from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.).
From 1 May to 31 August: daily from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (
except from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.).
From 1 September to 1 November:
weekends and public holidays form 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (except from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.).

No Tourist Train on 22, 23 & 24 June, 21 & 22 July, and 25 &
26 August.
On 7 July, 14 July and 4 August until 5 p.m.
On 23 September from 2 p.m.
No contractual information and may be modify.

Prices: adults 6 € - children 4,50 € (5-12 years old).
Cut-prices with the Pass Cards (Pass Provins, Pass'Murailles or Pass Famille): 
adults 5,40 € - children 4,10 € (
5-12 years old).
