Sport: The Rampart Race
This road race, recognized by the FFA, is among the thirty greatest French road races. It follows a path of rare beauty, ranging along the famous 13th century ramparts, and is also very selective: there is a significant difference of altitude between Provins’ Ville Haute (Upper Town) and Ville Basse (Lower Town).
Choose your race: the one circuit race (6 kms) or the three circuit race (17 kms).
Practical info: Sunday 16 October 2011. Departures at 9 a.m. (one circuit race) and 10 a.m. (three circuit race). Meeting in: the Downtown Place Saint-Ayoul (departure), Place du 29ème Dragons (arrival).

Come and discover our splendid birds of prey in perfect harmony with horses, wolves and dromedaries in a magnificent open air theatre.
The tales told here are an unforgettable experience for young and old alike. After the show, visit the bird’s aviary and shop.

Where equestrian art mixes with magic in the shadows of the centuries-old ramparts.
Big festivities are given to celebrate Thibaud IV’s return of crusades. Cavalcades, trick riding, dressage and juggling acts transport you into a world of knights and princesses.
But the Earl must fight the terrible Torvark and his wolves, warriors and redoubtable medieval siege engines! A great show full of horsemanship and jousts at full gallop! Our magnificent iberian horses, in perfect harmony with their riders, will make you share our passion by realizing difficult dance steps and the most crazy caprioles.
Wolves, camel and numerous farm animals will contribute to this unforgettable show.

| medieval banquet in the taverne des oubliées
In one of the largest lower room of Provins, from the 12th century, included in France's National Inventory of Historical Monuments, you will find a real medieval banquet.
You will eat medieval specialities and drink some "hypocras", a medieval wine.
Between each meal, storytellers, troubadours, performers, fire spitters, comedians, dancers, jesters, magicians take you in a festive mood!

Guided tour "Provins, WORLD HERITAGE" and Videoguide
Discover the history of Provins like you prefer, wiht a guide or thanks to the videoguide.
- The guided visit to the fortified town, accompanied by a guide, gives you an insight into the history of Provins and offers a panorama of its rich heritage. The tour, which starts from Saint-Jean’s Gate and goes up to Jouy Gate to see the ramparts, will take you to Place du Châtel. Then you will discover the Tithe Barn, a witness of the great splendour of the city at the time of the Fairs of Champagne.
- The videoguide, an easy-to-use and ingenious tool, equipped with GPS, will accompany you in the streets and monuments of the medieval town and its surroundings, to explore unimaginable treasures.

| the provins rose garden At feet of monuments, you will find a quiet and charming rose garden. In a bucolic atmosphere, you will learn about the story of this emblematic flower, its colors, shapes, scents, and its virtues. You will know everything there is about ancient roses - Rosa Gallica (roses of Provins), Rosa Damascena, Rosa Alba, Rosa Centifolia, hybrid tea roses - and modern roses which flower until autumn. The garden of “simples” will introduce you to various medieval plants, with medicinal properties, like Dill, Angelica, Comfrey… Guided visit on request and sale of rose bushes. Tearoom with terrace, shop, exhibition room and music concerts. Wheelchair access.

The Provins Tourist Train takes you through the medieval town with a recorded commentary about the history and the main monuments of Provins (French and English).
Numerous stops. The whole tour lasts 30 min.
The ticket is available for all day round.
Practical info: The Tourist Train works until 1 November 2011. From 1 October to 1 November: weekend and public holiday from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (except from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.). No contractual information and may be modified.

A guided tour with a specialist to discover farm animals in a typically Brie setting, at 7 km far away from Provins: poultry, chicks, cows, horses, sheeps, goats, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, etc. You can assist the birth of a small chick, collect eggs in the henhouse, milk one goat, give to eat and stroke animals.

It is a farm in service at only 10 km far away from Provins. You can discover farmer's occupations give to eat and stroke animals: rabbits, sheeps, chicks, cows, pigs and all sort of palmipeds. Numerous workshops complete the visit like how to prepare bread or how to shear a sheep, etc.

THE autUmn FAIR This flea market takes place on the exceptional boulevard d’Aligre. To find second hand goods and to make a pleasant stroll along the Durteint River. This boulevard follows the line of the old ramparts that have been almost completely destroyed in this part of the town.

Cider Festival
This traditional festival takes place in the town of Beton-Bazoches. Here you can watch real cider being made and then taste it. You can visit the major flea-market in the village streets or the huge 19th century apple press, among other things.
Practical info: Sunday 9 October 2011, all day long. How to get to Beton-Bazoches located north-west of Provins: follow the road D403 to Sézanne, then the D204 to La Ferté-Gaucher, then the N4 to Paris.
