Each year, the village of Cerneux presents a son et lumière show as part of a cycle entitled "Les champs de la terre" that revives memories of former times in the Briard district. In this season's offering, Adrien's Pathways (Les Chemins d'Adrien), a peasant by the name of Adrien tells the tale of his existence. The show's 30 scenes recall 70 years of country life in the late 19th century. The show is staged on Friday 22th, Saturday 23th and Sunday 24th August 2003 at 9.30 p.m.

Le Musée du Train An old French Rail locomotive shed in the town of Longueville houses the AJECTA steam railway museum. This old depot, now a listed Historic Monument, contains ten old steam locomotives and a number of antique railway carriages, www.ajecta.org

The perfectly vaulted naves, magnificent apse and fine sculptures of the Gothic Church of Beton-Bazoches are well worth a special visit;


If your journey takes you to Saint-Loup-de-Naud don't miss the chance to admire the village church and its wonderfully preserved pillar-statue portal , a masterpiece of early Gothic art reminiscent of Chartres;


L'Eglise des Marêts Charming St Hubert's Church in Les Marêts is a peculiar 16th century building in brick, stonework and plaster. The style of timbering, inspired by the King's architect, Philibert Delorme, means that there is no need of crossbeams to support the rotunda.
